Ethel Lillian Tait, a loving wife, mother, and MomMom, joined her beloved husband, William R. Tait Jr., in Heaven on June 23, 2026. Ethel was born on February 17, 1939, to Charles and Viola Note in Yeadon, Pennsylvania. Having lost both of her parents at a young age, she held their memory close throughout her life.
To those who knew and loved her, she was affectionately known as "E.T." She cherished her family deeply and held a strong, enduring faith in the Lord. Her children and grandchildren were blessed to spend time with her every summer at the Mt. Olive Union Camp Meeting in Dillsburg, PA. Ethel proudly maintained a wall outside her cabin featuring the handprints of the young children who visited the camp each year. While living in Williamsport with her family, she owned and operated Ethel's Nuthouse at the Lycoming County Mall. After moving to New Jersey upon retirement, Ethel remained a steadfast source of support and love for her two daughters and her grandson, Austin.
Ethel enjoyed traveling with the love of her life, Bill, and spoke often of the wonderful trips they took together. In his final years, she served as his devoted and loving caregiver.
Ethel is survived by her children, William R. (Mindy) Tait III, Cynthia Tait, and Heather (Rob Minus) Tait-Murphy; her grandsons, Keegan Tait, Brandon (Christine) Tait, and Austin Tait; and her great-granddaughter, Paisley. She is also survived by her dear cousin, Eileen (John) McComb; her sister-in-law, Peggy Note; her niece, Sherri (Ben) Pellegrini and family; her nephew, Chuck (Rebecca) Note; and a host of lifelong friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William R. Tait Jr.; her parents-in-law, William R. Tait Sr. and Martina Tait; and her brother, Charles Note.
Ethel's warmth, devotion to her family, and unwavering faith left a lasting imprint on the hearts of all who knew her. Though she will be deeply missed, her legacy of love and hospitality will live on through her family.
