Maria Miosi, 97, formerly of Ralston and Lewisburg, a devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 18, 2026, in Norfolk, Virginia.

She was born February 4, 1929, in Bamberg, Germany, a daughter of the late Michael and Maria (Schumm) Badum. She was married to Thomas R. Miosi, who preceded her in death July 3, 1993.

Maria will always be remembered as an exemplary mother figure. She embodied the best of qualities: unconditional love, strength of spirit, and an unending generosity that could be seen in her care for her family and friends. Maria was an avid gardener, knitter, cyclist, and Scrabble player. She was incredibly smart and witty, a trait she passed down to each of her greatest joys, her 7 "overachieving" children.

Surviving are five children and their spouses, Michael Miosi (Lisa) of LeRoy, John Miosi (Joanne) of Marlton, New Jersey, Maria Fisher (Gary) of Nolanville, Texas, Helga Savidge (Douglas) of Northumberland, and Linda O'Neil (Robert) of Chesapeake, Virginia; 14 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and one brother, Werner Schumm and family of Bamberg, Germany.

In addition to her husband of 42 years, she was preceded in death by two sons, Ludwig Miosi and Thomas L. Miosi; one brother, Christopher Badum; and one sister Helga Wunder.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Friday, September 25, at Sacred Heart Church, 814 St. Louis St, Lewisburg, with Father Fred Masayi, as celebrant.

Private burial will be in Fort Indiantown Gap Cemetery, Annville.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Hospice which was a cause close to Maria's heart. https://hospicefoundation.org/donate
