Nancy Lynne Ferrell, 82, formally of Hughesville, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on August 28, 2026, in York.
Born on August 6, 1944, in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Howard L. and Joan G. (Doane) Dole.
Nancy graduated from John Bartaram High School, Philadelphia in 1962. Driven by a passion to help others, Nancy graduated from the Philadelphia General Hospital Licensed Practical Nursing Program in 1964 and was employed by Divine Providence and Muncy Valley Hospitals. Nancy dedicated her life to her family and community. She was a former Girl Scout Troop leader and deacon for the Hughesville Baptist Church. She was known for her unwavering generosity, always offering a listening ear and a warm embrace to those in need. Above all else, she loved her family deeply.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 62 years, Richard Lawrence Ferrell of York; her three children, Kathleen (David) Maciejewski of Hughesville, Kristine (James) Hackett of York, and Lori (Scott) Morgan of Lititz; and her four grandchildren, Christian Hackett, Devin Maciejewski, Ashley (Morgan) Garman, and Bethanie Hackett.
Besides her parents, Nancy was also preceded in death by her brother, Howard L. Dole.
Arrangements have been entrusted to McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, Hughesville.
A private celebration of Nancy's life will be held by the family.
