Diane L. Mertz, 83, formerly of Muncy and Mifflinburg, passed away on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, in Tacoma, Washington.
She was born June 11, 1943 in Williamsport, a daughter of the late George R. and Pearl E. (Seitzer) Hart. On October 7, 1967, she married Gary R. Mertz, who preceded her in death August 31, 2014.
Diane was a 1961 graduate of Williamsport High School.
She was employed at BonTon in Lycoming Mall from 1991-2005.
Diane was a member of Mifflinburg United Methodist Church.
She enjoyed sewing, floral arranging and embroidery.
Surviving are one son, Darren Mertz and his partner Jeremy Wekell, of Tacoma, Washington; one brother, William Hart of Montoursville; one sister, Linda Peterman of Montoursville;
She was preceded in death by her cousin Carol (Hart) Shifflet.
Family and friends are welcome from 10 to 11 a.m., Friday, October 30, 2026, at Roupp Funeral Home, Inc., 8594 Old Turnpike Road, Mifflinburg, where the funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m., with Rev. Rebecca Cuddeback, officiating.
Burial will be held in Wildwood Cemetery, Williamsport, at the convenience of the family.
