Joseph C. Roman, 93, of Montgomery, passed away on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at home with his family by his side.
Born January 12, 1933, in Plymouth, he was a son of the late Andrew and Viola (Polsunas) Roman. On November 24, 1956, he married the former Evelyn Ekker, who survives. Together they celebrated nearly 70 years of marriage.
Joseph was a 1951 graduate of Plymouth High School. Following high school, he was employed by Bethlehem Steel, working on the Great Lakes as a Seaman aboard the U.S.S. Lehigh. He then joined the U.S. Army, serving honorably from 1953 to 1956. Following his time in the service, he worked as a credit manager for the Sunoco Company and owned and operated the former O K Beverage in Allenwood.
Joseph was a member of Church of the Resurrection, Muncy.
He was an avid gardener and loved spending time outdoors. Joseph also enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was very creative and enjoyed tinkering around in any hobby.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by five children, Steven Roman and his wife, Joy, of Exchange, Linda Roman and her husband, Will Bubb, of Eagles Mere, Paul Roman, of Millville, Leon Roman and his wife, Dawn Hankinson, of Murrysville, and Dorothy Hawley and her husband, Dave, of Muncy; one brother, Walter Roman and his wife, Barbara, of Macungie; ten grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one son, Michael Roman; two brothers and three sisters.
Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
