Kim (Lowry) Martin, 72, of Pompano Beach Florida, passed away peacefully on September 19, 2026.
Kim was born in Williamsport on August 10, 1952 and grew up in Faxon. She attended Loyalsock High School where she excelled in both academics and cheerleading. She also represented Loyalsock HS in the Flaming Foliage Festival. She then attended Roanoke College in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia, where she majored in Business. After graduating Summa Cum Laude she moved to Ft Lauderdale FL to be closer to her Mother where she remained.
Always having a desire to help people, she worked in many diverse customer service industries. She found enjoyment in almost every job she had, making lifelong friends at most of them. These jobs spanned from waitressing to banking to hotel management to food preparation. Later in life, as her body prevented her from doing physically demanding work, she transitioned to helping her significant other John Woodbury run a cigar distribution business.
Kim enjoyed trips abroad with her siblings and mother which spanned the globe from Africa to Ireland as well as other countries. She also enjoyed traveling to the Caribbean, Bahamas and Key West with John on extended vacations, often times splitting their time between beaches and boats. She enjoyed painting, gardening and watching old movies. Her cats were her children and she had many of them over the years, each holding a special place in her heart.
Kim will be remembered for always showing concern and kindness for others. Though she had health challenges she was always more concerned with how others were instead of herself.
Kim leaves behind many friends made over the decades, both in Pennsylvania and Florida. Also surviving is her boyfriend, John Woodbury, her companion for over three decades; a brother, Charlie Lowry (Bess), of Montgomery PA; a half sister, Jill Lowry (Brett) of Salida CO; a half brother, Matt Lowry (Pam) of Towson; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was recently predeceased by her close sister Merrie Lowry. She was also predeceased by her parents Robert and Helen Lowry and grandparents Charles and Josephine Grosskurth and Frank and Helen Lowry.
