William “Bill” Bowman

William "Bill" Bowman passed away peacefully on Friday, October 16, 2026.

Born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Bill was a true son of the city. It was there that he met and married his long-time sweetheart, Sally Bowman.

Bill proudly served his country in the United States Navy, joining the ranks of many brave service members of his generation. Bill carried his love for organic gardening into a successful landscaping business in Ardsley, Pennsylvania. His dreams grew even larger when he and Sally moved to Tioga County, Pennsylvania, to pursue farming; and raised their five daughters.

Beyond the farm, Bill built a long and fulfilling career in the grocery business. His many years as Night Manager at ACME Markets furthered his professional journey, which ultimately culminated in his proud ownership of the Beech Creek Market for many years.

Bill lived life to the fullest and cherished his leisure time. Vacations on Long Beach Island (LBI), bowling, golfing, fishing, and hunting were among his favorite pastimes--hobbies that brought him great joy and added to the lifelong friendships he made along the way. His greatest joy, however, was always his family and friends.

Bill celebrated his 90th birthday this year with friends and family. After a well-fought health battle, which included the tremendous support and care of his wonderful caregivers, Bill lost his fight. A celebration of Bill Bowman's life will be held in the Summer of 2027 at Camp Weasel, one of his happiest places.

He will be missed by many, including his five daughters, four granddaughters, five grandsons, four great-grandsons, and one great-granddaughter.

To honor his warm spirit, his family asks that you give a smile and a wink to someone you meet today in memory of Bill.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., 231 High St., Flemington, PA 17745.
