Dr. Thomas S. Forker, 78, of Williamsport, passed away on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, at The Gatehouse at Divine Providence.
Born March 6, 1948, in Harrisburg, he was a son of the late Walter F. and Janet Mae (Luckenbaugh) Forker.
Thomas was a 1966 graduate of Asbury Park High School and went on to earn his bachelor's degree from Denison University in 1969. Following graduation, he worked for IBM before pursuing his passion for medicine. He earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from the College of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey.
Dr. Forker dedicated more than 30 years of his life to caring for others in the medical field. He began his career operating his own family practice in Jersey Shore, where he served the healthcare needs of the community. He later practiced emergency medicine at Divine Providence Hospital, Jersey Shore Hospital, and Troy Hospital. Throughout his career, he remained committed to the well-being of his patients and the communities he served.
He was a faithful member of First Christian Church of Montoursville, where his faith remained an important part of his life.
Outside of medicine, Thomas had a lifelong passion for aviation. He was a member of the Williamsport Regional Association of Pilots, the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA), the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA), and EAA Chapter 1641. Flying brought him great joy, and he especially cherished taking his wife on flights for lunch dates, visiting family, and attending air shows. He also enjoyed participating in Young Eagles flights, sharing his love of aviation with younger generations and introducing them to the excitement of flying.
Thomas was equally fascinated by technology and enjoyed building computers and working with ham radios. Above all, he treasured time spent with his family. Whether gathering together for special occasions or simply enjoying one another's company, family gatherings held a special place in his heart.
Surviving is his loving wife, Eileen G. (Jordan) Forker, with whom he would have celebrated 21 years of marriage on November 26, 2026; a daughter, Keira Forker (Chris Emanuelli) of Hillsborough, NJ; step-children, Andrew Phyfe of North Fort Myers, FL, Jennifer Higley and Caitlin Smith (Joel) all of Shunk, PA; two grandchildren, Ryan Phyfe (Autumn) and Nickolas Phyfe (Abbie); a beloved great-grandson, Sammy; his brothers, Mark Forker (Christine) of Valparaiso, IN, Joel Forker (Susie) of Knoxville, TN and Neil Forker (Ana) of Payson, AZ; and numerous nieces and nephews.
