Congratulations to the Montoursville Area High School baseball team and South Williamsport Area High School baseball and softball teams are in order.
When high school athletic teams from our region do well in the post-season, our editorial board often takes a moment to acknowledge the traits that the teams continually displayed during the journeys.
Perseverance. Hard work. Selflessness and teamwork.
The Warriors and Mountaineers demonstrated time and time again through their seasons that the young men and women on these teams understood and respected the intrinsic value of these traits.
While the season's endings were not what they hoped for, we whole-heartedly believe that these traits will serve all of these teammates -- and their classmates, and their neighbors of all ages throughout our communities -- well.
It speaks highly of our communities and the families that call our communities home that they embrace these values.
We are confident that we will hear about many more successes as their lives continue, and we are just as confident that perseverance, hard work and selflessness will be important practices in the pursuit of those successes.
The Warriors and Mounties have much to be proud of -- and will have even more in which to take pride in their futures.
