A series of tours organized by the Innovative Manufacturers Center and Williamsport-Lycoming Chamber of Commerce recently concluded, with the final tour of Lycoming Engines featured in Monday's edition of the Sun-Gazette.
Other tours included the Ralph Alberts Co., Chance Aluminum and Lewis Lumber Products.
We appreciate the opportunity to learn more about these manufacturers and to share their hard work with readers throughout the region.
The tours are a timely reminder of the critical role manufacturing plays in our region. Companies like these create thousands of jobs across Lycoming County and surrounding counties -- jobs filled by men and women who support their families, pay taxes, shop and spend their consumer dollars in neighboring retailers and other businesses and contribute to their neighborhoods and communities in countless ways.
As the 2026 election wraps up and communities and our country prepares for the results of these elections, we hope every winner -- incumbant or new -- can recognize the pivotal role these employers and all employers play in our economy.
We hope the need for regulatory reform, low tax rates and judicious spending so that these employers -- and all the new employers who could enter our region -- are able to continue with their proven track record of investing in our communities.
