Williamsport airport
Williamsport losing air service? It is hard to believe. With American Airlines eliminating service to Williamsport, I am concerned about the end of an era. When I graduated from WHS in 1959, there were multiple airlines serving Williamsport with two flights a day, on average.
There was United, Allegheny, Mohawk, TWA, and Capital, that I can remember. Our home was located right under the approach to Runway 12 of the airport in Montoursville and I also was enrolled in the vocational class for aviation mechanics of WHS with classes at the airport for three years.
Again, a very sad day for Williamsport and Lycoming County.
