The news over the last week has demonstrated just how hard it is to keep up with science.
The Williamsport Area School District voted one week to stay with the hybrid model, presumably on the basis of science. A week later, they voted to go to five-day in-school instruction, also presumably based on science.
The Montoursville Area School District closed the high school for a week and cancelled all extracurricular activities, because of two positive COVID tests, on the basis of science and then later that same day decided, to reduce the closure to two days and reinstate sports also based on science.
This leads us to one of two conclusions. Either science changes very rapidly, or those who claim they are making decisions based on science are full of male bovine excrement.
To be fair, this is not limited to school districts. At the beginning of all of this foolishness, our governor changed what constitutes a life-sustaining business on a daily and sometimes hourly basis.
Science tells us that this virus spreads rapidly in restaurants and bars, but not in department stores. It spreads at political rallies but not riots. It spreads at anti-shutdown protests, but not anti-racism protests. It spreads at sporting events, but not at auto shows whose sponsors support the governor.
Science also tells us that masks don't help until there are plenty of masks to go around, mostly made in China, which gave us the virus, or did it?
Science tell us to "social distance" or wear masks, and then to social distance and wear masks and use plexiglass barriers.
None of this makes any sense when you look at it using science, but it makes perfect sense when you look at it through the eyes of a tyrant or a sheep.
