As a retired lawman, I had to laugh at Biden's last efforts to "control crime" by enacting more gun control laws by executive order. First, Biden needs to know there are three branches of government and legislation does not start with the stroke of his pen!
His first target is "ghost guns" that are made after they are sold as 80 percent finished items, Biden laments that "they have no serial numbers and cannot be traced in crime investigations." I wonder how many guns he ever traced by serial number in a criminal case? In my experience criminals use stolen guns and most had the serial numbers ground off the frame. We routinely "ran the serial numbers" and always came back to the LAST legal gun owner and not the criminal who misused it!
If anyone checks with the FBI National Crime Information Center (NCIC) they will find over a million stolen guns and another million stolen vehicles listed. All vehicles are Licensed and Registered and many used in crimes like bank robberies. Bank robbers rarely use their own vehicles, but prefer stolen ones they abandon a few blocks away from the robbed bank. Back at the bank, witnesses record the license plate number and tell same to the responding police. An NCIC check REVEALS the LAST legal car owner, but NOT the name of the bank robber!
Way to go Joe on your "tracking" theory by the NUMBERS! Unfortunately, Joe's gun control logic is on par with his "Border Security!" And only 45 more months to go.
