I was glad to see that PennDOT is finally going to address the disaster waiting to happen on the Golden Strip. The traffic snarl heading into Dunkin’ Donuts has been a problem for years. However, Dunkin’ is only part of the problem and with Loyalsock bringing two new restaurants to the Strip, it will only get worse.

The township needs to do their part. Banning left-hand turns, except at intersections with traffic lights, seems like a no-brainer, logical solution. Other communities have done it and found it saves time and gas, while supporting the smooth movement of traffic.

So, thank you Penn DOT, for finally deciding to deal with a long-running, aggravating, dangerous problem.

Now, Loyalsock Township, step up and do your part to deal with a traffic system not equipped to handle the commercial zone you have created.
