Commissioners vs. Controllers: WHY?
I have been reading all the articles about the County Commissioners suing the County Controller and have been trying to understand it all.
I live next to water and this metaphor came to mind and I wanted to share.
The Commissioners have their pond and each of the row officers have a pond too. All the ponds are separated by legal dams, known as PA County Code. It looks like the Commissioners are trying to put a hole in the Controllers dam. It seems to me the Commissioners need to stop trying to cause a flood and, instead, build a bridge.
The damage the Commissioners are causing by trying to put a hole in the dam to the Controllers pond is being paid for by the taxpayers of Lycoming County. Building a bridge through communication and working within the law as it was written seems to be a better option for our Commissioners and the County as a whole.
