He is a retired editor, journalist, family man, a man of character; which brings to mind David Troisi. He recently had a health crisis, quite serious. As I understand, it was a poignant internal bleed which years ago might have been undetected and fatal. It had to be quite a shocker for Dave at the age of 67 and just getting settled in retirement.
Over the years, I don't think I missed any of his prose that he wrote while editor. He always had worthwhile opinions to read. He radiated common sense, whether it be foward looking, analytical, or just David. He always gave you the full picture. You can get your heart into his prose, for example his recent episode of having come down with a health issue. He made the narrative of his trip to the ER, his care and interaction with volunteers, nurses and doctors; a human interest story. One could understand what was happening every step of his journey. He gave a good score to UPMC and appropriate thanks to every individual helper along the way. I am sure Dave knows there were many prayers for him and the team serving him at UPMC. Now that David is gaining complete recovery, he and his family are thanking God for his healing hand during David's health crisis. David, we all wish you good health.
