Has anyone noticed that the majority of letters to the editor from the State College area are predominately anti-Trump? These letters push the diatribe that Republicans are destroying our democracy and therefore, must be defeated in the next election to save it. To replace them Americans should elect “Liberal Democrats” who I believe would install a “Socialist/Marxist” style of governance. How well has that worked for the people of Cuba, Venezuela, Russia, China, North Korea etc.? Has their democracy been saved?

I believe, many of these writers are employed in the field of “higher education.” I served eight years on the local school board and learned that many of the “professional staff” spent most of their careers employed in an educational field funded, in part or, completely by taxpayers. Maybe that’s why they push for a Socialist government, who will tax and tax again to keep padding educators’ paychecks.

How else could individuals, who are thought to be intellectually superior, be so enthusiastically supportive of a one-party central government, that controls all forms of production and distribution of goods and services to the governed?
