The Communist Manifesto?
Donald Peters’ “Indictment a gift and a lift” in the April 9 Sun-Gazette claims that “Alvin Bragg’s charging Donald Trump is a “tactic straight out of the Communist Manifesto.” The April 5th issue of the Sun-Gazette includes “Local party chairs weigh in on Trump indictment in N.Y.” by Mark Maroney. In that Peters makes two similar claims.
I’m happy that Peters read the Manifesto. I also have read it. I have two questions.
First, what is the “tactic”? There is nothing in the Manifesto about “fingerprinting” or any tactic. Where did Peters get these ideas?
Second, my book version states “. . . that the first step in the revolution by the working class, is to raise the proletariat to the position of ruling class, to establish democracy.” Why did Peters ignore this?
Marx believed that ways of material production cause the progress of history. He studied slavery, serfdom and wage labor, and argued that workers get less than they should.
Mr. Peter’s attempt to compare Trump’s indictment to the Manifesto does not really make any sense.
