When you see the words agency, bureau, commission, department or service in the name of any federal, state, county or local entity, beware. Remember Ronald Reagan's advice: when you hear "I'm from the government and I'm here to help you," you should slam the door in their face.
There is a situation in Piatt Township where a state entity, the state Department of Transportation, is trying to seize the property of an area business along the supposed "safety corridor" on Route 220. Locally owned businesses are the backbone of our economy and to have a monster like PennDOT harass a local business is, in my opinion, immoral and probably illegal.
If they succeed with this atrocity, which business is next? I support small, locally-owned businesses and I urge everyone to defend the businesses along Route 220. With our support, I believe PennDOT will back off and think twice before they ply their fraud on another small, locally owned business.
