Keep Newberry, Jaysburg beautiful
We, the life-long residents of the West End, have known that Williamsport has always treated us in Newberry and Jaysburg like a stepchild.
Finally, a company has decided to build an attractive housing complex in an undeveloped section of our town.
I’m sure the complex will be landscaped and present a lovely area for the residents and public as well. But the city has rejected the bid due to a ridiculous codes issue.
I hope the city will approve this construction. The West End needs this valuable addition to one of the nicest sections of our town. Also, it would be a good idea if the city would complete the River Walk from Arch Street to the Memorial Street trail’s beginning. How nice would that trailhead be?
I want to insist that the developers will design a building that will be attractive and represent the legacy of the first settlement in the river valley. We don’t need another warehouse-looking building in this area. If they’re going to create a landmark living space, then make it worthy of praise, please>
Good luck with this project. It’s time to keep Newberry and Jaysburg beautiful.
