Putin wishes Trump could be elected tomorrow. Trump's willingness to consistently trash NATO as outdated and irrelevant, was music to Putin's ears. NATO is the only reason that the USSR and now Russia have been contained so successfully. Second, NATO is the only thing that stands between Putin and conquering Ukraine. Without the leadership of the US and President Biden, NATO will not be able to help Ukraine resist Putin's invasion.
