I think that the new River Valley Transit Strategic Plan is fine as presented. However I think that the cute graphics on the buses are a waste of money, do not serve the customers, and create a safety hazard. I think that all the buses should have the same graphics and colors. I used to ride the bus a lot, and when you get to the bus stop a minute late and do not know if the bus came by yet, it is very reassuring to see the familiar patterns and colors coming towards you.
Now, you would see a vehicle coming towards you and you would not know if its a bus or a food truck. By the time you recognize it as a bus, it might be too late to motion to the driver to start stopping in time. This would likely result in a fast stop, which creates a safety hazard for riders, drivers, and other vehicles. The present graphics are also a distraction for other drivers. The new Strategic Plan means business, and the buses should look like they mean business too.
