Thanks for your interesting "letters" and I must reply. Recently a former county Democratic Chairperson wrote an Op-Ed piece lamenting why we need Voter ID this election cycle. I was stunned at the illogic. I need to show ID to open a bank account, get a book out of my local library or buy a gun. So why NOT require Photo ID to vote? If someone uses my name to vote and votes WITHOUT showing ID, what happens when I show up to vote? There are TV ads advising of Identity THEFT, so why is voter fraud NOT a concern for all? It could happen to anyone, so ask for PHOTO ID and all is well.
Today, I opened your newspaper and saw a need to respond to another writer, "Paying attention?" The writer attempted to explain the "benefits" of the Inflation Reduction Act", but never said how inflation was reduced by Biden. I am stunned Biden can give away BILLIONS of our tax dollars for Ukrainian relief and college student loans forgiveness without approval of Congress! How did the IRA reduce our 33 trillion dollar national debt?
How can Biden give a $10,000 debit card to about 10,000 illegals entering our country daily along with free medical care, free food and housing? Why is Congress not voting to spend these billions from the public trough? What is wrong with this picture?
November cannot get here soon enough to save this country from the current downward spiral. Where is the inflation reduction the letter writer spoke about? Go to the grocery store and document Biden's "benefit." I hope many others "pay attention", it may be their last chance.
