These are all people who worked closely with Donald Trump and know him very well. They are part of over 110 Republican former legislators and officials who have either refused to endorse the former president or who have outright called him "unfit to serve".
In addition, this past week, over 740 former national security leaders, retired generals, admirals, ambassadors. and security and intelligence officials, many of them Republicans, also refused to endorse him, stating in a group letter that his "vengeful impulses…endanger America". This kind of warning to the voting public is unprecedented in our history.
Marco Rubio called him a "con artist". JD Vance called him "America's Hitler", Lindsey Graham said "he does not represent (American) military values". Mitch McConnell said "he tried to overturn the voters decision". Paul Ryan and Nikki Haley have also spoken against Trump becoming president again.
What do all these obviously well-informed people, most of whom were close to Trump, recognize in him that many of us fail to see?
