Not a popularity contest
I am writing to respond to the column written by Verna Caruso in the Oct. 19 edition.
I am appalled that at this time and place people are still choosing their leaders on the basis of gender, color and national origin. She then names a few such as Eva Peron, Margaret Thatcher and even Taylor Swift. Good heavens, Kamala Harris is no Margaret Thatcher, and she does not have the brains or experience to run this country. The Democratic Party did not have a choice in her selection to run and she has done nothing in the past three-plus years to show that she has any leadership qualities but is only the puppet of Obama and his cronies.
She flip-flops on issues she thinks will get her elected such as gun control and fracking and when asked a question she talks about her middle-class upbringing as if her parents were factory workers and not university professors. She says she is on board with all of Biden’s policies and then says she has her own agenda.
If she is elected, expect four more years of unsecured borders, our taxes used for housing, food and health care for illegal immigrants who are flooding our hospitals and schools with their needs. Expect men who identify as women competing against our women and using the same bathrooms. Expect deaths from fentanyl and higher crime in our communities. Expect shoplifting that won’t get prosecuted because it’s under a thousand dollars.
This isn’t a popularity contest — neither candidate would win there. Vote for policies that help you and your business. Frankly I don’t know what her policies are. We need changes right now. Secure the border and get a handle on who is living in our great land. We need to build our factories and use our own resources and not be dependent on other countries. Our first and foremost priority is for our citizens to feel safe and secure.
