Stolen valor

2 min read

Concerning Gov. Tim Walz, Kamala Harris' pick for vice president -- he said he carried a weapon when he served in Iraq when he was in the National Guard. While I appreciate his many years of service, he was never in Iraq nor did he ever carry a weapon in any combat zone. That is plain and simply stolen valor.

I was in the Navy during the Vietnam era, and I served in California. I was not in Vietnam nor have I ever said or even implied I was in Vietnam because that would have been dishonest. If there is any Vietnam veteran or any veteran for that matter who is undecided about who to vote for, I want you to remember the lie that Tim Walz has been saying about carrying a weapon in the Iraq war. Compare that to JD Vance being a Marine veteran who was deployed to a combat zone. I believe this will help you decide if you want to vote for someone who would lie about something so important or a true military veteran and hero.

It was an honor for me to serve in the military, as it is for every veteran, and for Gov. Walz to say he carried a weapon in a combat zone in Iraq is a lie and an insult to every veteran.

When you vote on Nov. 5, please remember that JD Vance truly did serve in a combat zone and put his life on the line for every citizen of the United States. He was not just someone who said he did, as Gov. Walz lied about it. That should make voting for Trump/Vance a very easy and correct decision.
