Hey you--yes you. . .
I'm challenging you. This challenge is on past learning and of course what you have seen on TV and in the movies. Here goes, it's between what you know about the Roman empire and the U.S. Let's refresh the Roman Empire. TV and the movies gave examples of the homes and life style of the living; and the Colosseum; if one had experienced of putting one's body next to or inside, it's huge. Make a comparison of your TV to the Colosseum. Probably you know of the gladiators and the Christians. Why did the gladiators become the army? How did they get there? Free time as a result of slavery for the common good. Slaves where everywhere plus a need for more. It's a period of it eat, drink, and make merry.
Now look to the government; can we compare it to the U.S.? Do we want without producing work for a life style beyond our reach? Take a look of past volunteerism; has one's volunteer fire company closed down? Is your library having trouble finding help? Is your favorite restaurant having trouble finding help for the kitchen? Has your local government found a way to solve this problem? What way are increasing taxes affecting your needs? Are you waiting to win the lottery? GOOD LUCK!!!
What has happened to organizations raising financial help through volunteers; be it church, volunteer fire companies, etc?
