I am absolutely SHOCKED! President Joe Biden pardoned his son, Hunter Biden. After all the political persecution that Hunter Biden endured for the sin of being Joe Biden’s son, it was the least his father could have done for him. Anyone in this country that studies the pardon power of the president knows the whole deal is a big scam. The reasoning behind the pardons is something that should be studied.

In Joe Biden’s situation, as a father who has already lost two sons, the burden of pardoning your one remaining son, no matter how flawed, has to allow you to show of the love of a father. OK, I get it, he lied when he said that he would not pardon Hunter. But circumstances change, and the legacy of your son in prison for relatively petty crimes, versus the legacy of lying to the American people is something which will conflict us.

But there are precedents and parallels to go by. A former and future President Donald J. Trump lied to the American people about a stolen election, along with thousands of other lies. This President also pardoned lots of people. The important distinction is why these two men issued pardons. Joe Biden issued a pardon for the love of a father to his son. Donald Trump issued pardons to people who could have testified in court against him for his insurrectionist activities and his stealing of classified documents. Yes, there are parallels between the two situation, but I’m OK with a father’s love of his son. I’m am NOT OK with a criminal using the pardon to avoid prosecution.
