Consider the eerie similarities between Trump and Bitcoin. They both became popular alternatives to the established order around ten years ago, Trump in politics, Bitcoin with free market capitalism. Both herald a new age of prosperity based on populism and trust, yet deficient in substance or and even common sense. Both come dressed in gold, but are neither backed by gold nor truth of any kind. And now, they have joined forces.
In the end, we get what we deserve: a bunch of hot air. But we are running out of time. The world grows warmer, and deficits grow wider. These are the hard truths so easily ignored.
