Would you hire someone who ruined two companies because of financial mismanagement? And sometimes he was so drunk at work that he had to be carried out? Who sexually harassed his women employees? I'm quite sure you wouldn't consider employing him.
Yet that is exactly what our congressmen did. They chose a totally unqualified person to head our defense department whose budget is $842 billion and employs 2.9 million people. These congressmen were afraid not to do as Trump demanded, even though it puts our national security at risk. Suddenly we have gone from being the most secure country militarily in the world to becoming a weak disorganized power.
Pete Hegseth has no experience leading such a complex entity as the Department of Defense, but Trump wanted loyalty. We all are vulnerable as a result, so we need to tell our congressmen to protect and serve the citizens who elected them instead of following Trump blindly.
