I read with interest a recent letter to the editor in the Feb.6 edition titled “Call To Action”. The writer expressed his support for a suggestion that Democrats and the media should be doing everything they possibly can to prevent President Trump, Elon Musk and a handful of billionaires from implementing what he calls “a hostile takeover of the nation”.

Musk was appointed by Trump to lead the newly formed Department of Government Efficiency for the purpose of investigating and exposing the massive amount of waste, fraud, and abuse of taxpayer dollars by government agencies. Musk reports his findings back to Trump and the President calls the shots from there.

Although the Democrats and liberal media ignore it, the latest figures for wasted or unaccounted for taxpayer money exceeds 55 billion dollars, and he just got started.

The writer wonders “where are the Democrats”? That’s easy. They’re busy ensuring illegal immigrants “rights” are maintained, housed in luxury hotels, and given everything they need or want. All this while homeless veterans sleep on the streets, flooding victims in NC. live in tents and LA wildfire victims lost everything they own. They’re busy fighting to keep biological men in women’s sports, locker rooms, and rest rooms. They’re also busy cursing and screaming into microphones “No one voted for Musk”. That is true. It is also true that no one voted for Kamala Harris to be the Democratic candidate for President or for Dr. Anthony Fauci to basically dictate everything we could or could not do during Covid. Furthermore and most importantly, no one voted for any of these bureaucrats that lead the agencies where our tax money is being tossed out like penny candy in a parade.

At least one Democrat is trying to do the right thing. I’m no fan of Sen.John Fetterman D-PA, but I applaud his decision to go to Mar-a-Lago to meet with President Trump. Fetterman described his mission as an attempt to find common ground with the President that would best serve the American people. And what did he get for his effort? He was widely criticized and labeled a “traitor” by the liberal media and his own party! Apparently that’s what you can expect if you’re a Democrat and dare to put The People before The Party.

The writer closes with “Democrats- Uncle Sam needs you…now”. I couldn’t agree more. Uncle Sam needs Democrats to either get on board or get out of the way as President Trump continues to put America first, fulfill the campaign promises that returned him to the White House, and to….Make America Great Again.
