I felt a sense of shame after reading the April 6, 2025 article in your newspaper “Historic Black church took Proud Boys to court…”. How could my brethren in Christ fly flags outside their church promoting a hateful, racist, Marxist organization like Black Lives Matter? BLM is the 21st century version of the Black Panthers. For those of you who weren’t around, too young to remember or forgot, the Panthers were a black, Marxist, racist group that assassinated white cops, fomented insurrection and promoted hatred of all things white in the 1960’s and 70’s. Sound like the venom espoused by BLM? It is, precisely. Seems like the Black Panthers morphed into BLM.

Understand that I am not defending the radical right wing group, the Proud Boys, who tore down the flags at the church. But I think those flags needed to come down. They should have been removed by other Christians who recognized the hateful message that they represent. Better yet, someone from the church that put them up should have taken them down.

As a side note, this article is another example of why the Sun-Gazette needs to find another source for national and international news. It was written by the Associated Press, the one-sided, sometimes radical mouthpiece for the left.
