How can Republican Representatives sleep at night? How can they possibly call themselves Christians? They voted for Trump's "Big Beautiful Bill" which could take health insurance away from 8 million Americans, including children, seniors, and those with disabilities. Why? to give tax cuts to the wealthy. These politicians would deprive people of vital care, including 40% of all American children who presently receive Medicaid. And rural hospitals, which depend upon Medicaid reimbursements, may be forced to close.
The tax cuts would give the wealthiest an average of $43,000 while those of us with lower incomes are estimated to pay $1,125 more. States, no longer getting federal aid, would likely raise the sales tax, which would affect the average person far more than the wealthy.
These politicians don't admit they are cutting Medicaid; instead, they are being sneaky...making receiving payments much more difficult. While most adults on Medicaid already work, they will have to prove their employment twice a year with piles of paperwork. If they fill it out incorrectly, they lose their insurance.
One-fourth of all Pennsylvanians presently receive Medicaid.
The government will spend more as people, without insurance, will be forced to go to hospitals, and the elderly will have to go to nursing homes to replace the home health care they received on Medicaid. Eight million Americans will suffer so the rich can become richer.
