Marx was a Marxist, of course, and he had a big revolutionary beard to prove it. But in his 1848 Communist Manifesto Marx excitedly wrote that a mere hundred years of the industrial revolution, which was invented in the West, had unleashed more productivity than all previous human history combined. And then Marx triumphantly celebrated how Western culture with its world-girdling economy was rendering obsolete all the other cultures of the world and sweeping them away, and then replacing them with the transformative wealth production methods and revolutionary social institutions of the capitalist West. According to Marx, the West alone had found the way to free humanity from the grind of life amidst the dire scarcity of a hard and uncaring nature.

And now contrast Marx’s view — look it up in the Manifesto if you doubt us here — with that of America’s current green Marxists. They hate the West, they hate capitalism, they hate machines, they hate entrepreneurs, they hate fossil fuels, and they hate mass-produced wealth for everyone while loudly praising all other cultures and cheering them on against the West. Today Marx would look at Bernie, Nancy, Chuckie, the Squad, and all the leading college campuses and mainline media with an incredulous revolutionary contempt showing through his great prophetic beard. And then he’d cheer on Trump’s restoration of the West’s economic revolution while investing in Musk’s magnificent capitalist companies!
