U. S. Foreign Aid goes to those displaced by wars, the world’s poorest, and to those battling diseases like HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, malaria and influenza. The amount the United States gives out in foreign aid is 1% of the Federal Budget. Yet, this seemingly small amount is huge and does a lot of good. U. S. Aid is often the difference between life and death for many of its recipients while it is an effective tool of American leadership and protection against terrorists and the spread of disease to the rest of the world.

Standing alone against every Democratic legislator, Republican Senators and Congressmen, many self-professed Christians, voted to cut our aid to the world’s neediest. They spent over a hundred thousand dollars to destroy many hundreds of thousands of dollars of spoiled food that they refused to spend a dime on to ship to the hungry before it went to waste, I suggest they compare this immoral MAGA attitude on aid to the needy to Matthew 25: 31-46:

“Then all the nations will be arranged before him and he will sort the people out, much as a shepherd sorts out sheep and goats, putting sheep to his right and goats to his left. Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Enter, you who are blessed by my Father! Take what’s coming to you in this kingdom…And here’s why: I was hungry and you fed me, I was thirsty and you gave me a drink, I was homeless and you gave me a room, I was shivering and you gave me clothes, I was sick and you stopped to visit, I was in prison and you came to me.’

Then those ‘sheep’ are going to say, ‘Master, what are you talking about? When did we ever see you so??’ And the King will say, ‘Let me tell you.: Whenever you did one of these things to someone overlooked or ignored, that was me – you did it to me.’

Then he will turn to the ‘goats,’ the ones on his left, and say, ‘Get out, worthless goats! You’re good for nothing but the fires of hell. And why? Because – I was hungry and you gave me no meal, I was thirsty and you gave me no drink,I was homeless and you gave me no bed, I was shivering and you gave me no clothes, Sick and in prison, and you never visited.’ Then those ‘goats’ are going to say, ‘Master, what are you talking about? When did we ever see so?’ He will answer them, ‘Whenever you failed to do one of these things to someone who was being overlooked or ignored, that was me – you failed to do it to me.’ Then those ‘goats’ will be herded to their eternal doom, but the ‘sheep’ to their eternal reward.” Mt 25:31-46:

And now Republicans are targeting America’s hungry families by cutting Food Stamps.

The Lord knows Christians well: Some will do the right thing because that is what Jesus would do. Others, only because they don’t want to end up with the goats. Still others, only if Jesus ‘replacement,’ MAGA’s Newly Chosen One, Donald J. Trump says so.
