As the year comes to an end, Special Olympics Pennsylvania, Susquehanna Valley Region and Team Lycoming wanted to say Thank You One and All for your outstanding support to the athletes of Lycoming County. Whether you served as a coach, was a volunteer, participated in the First Annual Polar Plunge, the Annual Frostbite Run or Penguin Walk, ran in the Torch Run, helped sponsor one of the other fundraising events or just showed up and cheered for the athletes, you helped make this year one of the most successful ever.
Lycoming County Special Olympics serves over 120 athletes and Unified partners throughout the year that train and compete in eleven different team and individual olympic type sports. With your help, Lycoming County Special Olympics was able to raise over $29,000,00 that allowed them to compete in more than 15 local, regional and state events bringing home numerous medals, ribbons and memories that will last a lifetime.
In addition, your involvement has provided opportunities to our athletes to become a part of the community in which they live. Attending service club meetings, making speeches about how participating in Special Olympics has made their life more meaningful or serving as Master of Ceremonies at several functions stresses their abilities more than their disabilities.
So as we move forward we ask for your continued support, so that our athletes can continue to train, compete and grow as individuals.
Again, THANK YOU and HAPPY NEW YEAR !!!!!
