Thank you for printing the "Community and cooperation during the holidays" piece by Jamie Flick on December 24. He surveyed our community, finding and noting many local organizations that bring practical and loving assistance to people in need. He ends his piece acknowledging the benefits of quelling divisions and seeking wise solutions in our national discourse and political decisions. Many problems in our local community; yet, Mr. Flick highlights some examples where we shine.
Don't you find pleasure in recalling the experience of loving or being loved as more satisfying than getting your own way by manipulation? Don't you find more joy in serving than in complaining? Don't you appreciate help when it's needed? I embrace the goal for the new year "Let there be peace on earth and let it begin with me". I pray you will as well.
