Not meeting the definition

Our two U.S. Senators and Representative must believe their constituents are stupid. Each took an oath to protect and defend the Constitution, yet all three do nothing to secure the right and legal obligation of Article I section 8 clause 11 which mandates that only Congress has the power to declare war. In the past few days

I have heard them describe what is happening in Iran as an excursion, kinetic activity and conflict. They refuse to utter the word “war” because their inaction will become obvious.War is defined as “a state of armed conflict between two different nations” Iran is a nation of 93 million people. The U.S. is spending about 1 billion dollars each day killing Iran’s political leadership; destroying its navy and air defense; sinking a training ship; destroying its oil production infrastructure and killing hundreds of innocent civilians, including over 100 little girls in attendance at their school.

The above described action describes a state of war.

Our elected representative will not act on their sacred oaths because if the war goes badly they can, like Pontius Pilate” wash their hands  of the mess and blame the President. If the war ends well they will rush to the Oval Office patting themselves on the back for their support of the President, while crowding around him for yet another campaign photo. For violating their oath of office all of them should be sent home at their next election.

By the way Mr. President an “excursion” is defined as “a short journey, especially one engaged in as leisure activity”Perhaps I am missing something but what you are doing in Iran does not meet that definition.
