Helping farmers
I thought Trump was a friend of farmers, but it doesn’t appear to be so.
Aside from his high tariffs causing farmers to lose their markets and the high cost of fuel due to an unnecessary war, Trump just canceled a program, which awarded $300 million for projects which supported farmers in underserved communities.
As Representative Angie Craig of Minnesota said, “Instead of focusing on lowering input costs for farm families by ending Trump’s inflationary tariffs and the war in Iran- which has sent prices for fertilizer and fuel skyrocketing – the Trump administration thinks it is more important to rescind funding for a program passed by Congress that helps farmers buy and retain farmland.” He can spend $1 billion a day on a war no one wanted, but he can’t spend $300 million to support farmers.
