Dr. Masse’s comments about Loyalsock Township and the undermining of Coach Waller isn’t surprising to me. What’s really bad though is that it’s so bad in Loyalsock that Dr. Masse has to call it out for what it is. Unfortunately he’s absolutely right! Casey Waller is one of the best coaches in Lycoming County if not the best. There are some real egotistical parents who can damper the experience for the whole team and not just the coach. These parents are selfish and only think of themselves. What’s really funny is if you’ve lived in Loyalsock long enough and have been through coaching yourself and sat on Little League Boards you’d understand they are the same ole people who think their opinions trump all others despite their lack of baseball experience themselves. They don’t understand that coaching is so much more than teaching about the fundamentals of a sport. There are many lessons taught throughout a season about how to be a team player, understanding roles and how you fit in, responsibilities to your fellow teammates on showing up on time, cheering each other on, keeping a good attitude to name a few. Every Coach knows when they sign up that there will always be some critique but come on Loyalsock get your act together!
