Financial struggles
When asked if Americans’ financial problems would motivate him to make a deal with Iran, Trump responded, “Not even a little bit. I don’t think about Americans’ financial situation. I don’t think about anybody. I think about one thing. We cannot let Iran have a nuclear weapon. That’s all.”
Yet, the US had the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action in 2015 under Obama which declared Iran couldn’t develop a nuclear weapon in exchange for lifting sanctions. Trump withdrew from that agreement in 2018, partially motivated by a desire to reverse a signature policy of Obama. After that Iran began to exceed its uranium stockpile. It was Trump himself who allowed Iran to stockpile uranium.
It’s hard to keep track of Trump. We still don’t know why Trump began a war with Iran which so far has cost US taxpayers more than $29 billion. Think how we could have used that money, like beginning to pay for Medicare for All to help needy Americans with their medical bills. Without this senseless war, we wouldn’t be paying almost $5 a gallon for gas, which is increasing the cost of everything else. I wish Trump cared about Americans’ financial situation.
