Gun violence or people violence?
In a letter from April 27, the writer assures us that if we just ban guns, violence will stop. How so?
He does nothing to explain how violent people will stop. Or who will stop them. Or, perhaps, every person who is attacked by someone intent on committing violence should just submit to injury, rape, or death, just so the perpetrator can feel better. At least that’s the way the courts and left wing politicians seem to feel about it. Even though they’re protected by people with guns.
You’re so concerned about a federal concealed carry mandate yet, with millions of people carrying every day, there are not bodies stacked up in the gutters for the street sweeper or garbageman to pick up. How is this even possible?! Yet, the cities with the most restrictive anti-gun laws have the highest gun-related crimes with a huge amount perpetrated by people too young to get a firearm at all, let alone a handgun.
And I did notice that the majority of quotes and recommendations in the letter were from everytown.org, a rabid anti-gun organization. And nami.org recommends we “study” the reasons behind the violence? What the ….? The dismantling of the mental health system in the 90s along with the rise in “criminal justice” advocates are the two greatest problems. Strange but, if you ask any criminal justice major if there are any courses about victim justice, all you get is a blank stare in response. This and the lack of proper education in the schools and at home and the decrease in faith-based education, and the lack of respect for others are the problems with all the violence.
All of you who are against guns are free to not have any. But don’t infringe my rights to protect myself and my family, and for Pete’s sake, don’t call a cop to help you in a situation! Gasp! They carry guns!
