250 years

As we approach the 250th celebration of the founding of our country, the motto or mantra for this event is “250 YEARS OF FREEDOM”. Really? If the democrat liberals had their way the motto would actually be “NO FREEDOM EXISTS THAT WE CAN’T CANCEL”!

Looking at the history of actions taken, and statutes passed by democrat-controlled administrations, we find that the First and Second Amendments to our Constitution have been so eroded that one might say that the freedoms supposedly guaranteed by these amendments are actually non-existent.

Speech has been eviscerated to the point that one must carefully tiptoe as if walking on glass before speaking so as not to offend the “Speech Police” and end up in custody or face fines for exercising an absolute Constitutional right. Certain speech has been labeled as “Hate Speech” if one even innocently mentions a dislike for someone whether or not hate was the intent. Common words are taken out of context and labeled as racist or homophobic, even though these words may have been applied properly to a specific subject far removed from any racial or other implied connotations. One’s opinion must not interfere with any liberal belief or opinion what-so-ever or face the consequences of their evil wrath.

Heaven forbid, that one should even mention the F(irearm), P(istol), or G(un) word, or any derivative thereof. This subject has been beat to the ground continuously for years by liberals, and unfortunately has gained some unwelcome momentum. How has gun control (oh dear, I used the G word) worked for those liberal cities like Chicago, the murder capital of the US, and probably the world. Law abiding inhabitants of Chicago and other cities like it, have been unable to exercise their Constitutional right to protect themselves because of severely strict possession laws that actually encourage the lawlessness of hoodlums and gang members to practice their unlawful activities, and in many cases, without serious repercussions from law enforcement (although I believe that law enforcement in these liberal cites have been held in abeyance by liberal policies that interfere with their sworn duty to “Serve and Protect”).

Our country was founded by armed rebellion against an unfair and extreme taxing by the Royal Crown and out of frustration, took up arms to defend their way of life of which they felt they were being deprived. “TAXATION WITHOUT REPRESENTATION” [1] was the main battle cry and reason for their actions. Well fast forward to today; that statement may seem familiar. How represented do you feel by the elected officials in Washington, Harrisburg, or even locally? Tax this, tax that and tax whatever they can think of. Can we claim ownership of our homes when the mortgage has been satisfied. Not really, as we are beholden to the taxing structures imposed by local government and school districts who demand we pay or lose our property for not doing so. There are so many taxes that exist that if listed here they would take up more pages than could be accepted for printing. Suffice it to say, there is no tax that a liberal doesn’t like. Income tax (Federal, State, and local), gas tax, sales tax, entertainment tax, sin taxes on liquor and cigarettes, entertainment tax, hotel tax, and even, believe it or not, a “rain tax” in some areas; the list goes on and on infinitum. Name it and it is most likely taxed!
