Failure and blame
President Trump loves to talk about all the renovations he has initiated. The Ballroom, the Arches, The Kennedy Center, the black granite walkway leading to the Oval office, the new patio cover the rose garden, the bathroom done in white marble, the gold detailing covering the Oval office. The Reflecting Pool is a good metaphor for the Trump presidency.
President Trump talk about the plans he had for the Reflecting Pool. He bragged how much cleaner and beautiful it will be after he gets done with it. He talked endlessly how the pool would be paint blue not just any blue but flag blue, it would look better than it ever has before him. We all know how that turned out.
No sooner had the reports airing how ugly the pool looked then Trump, as he usually does, attacked the media for giving too much attention to the pool. The pool turned green and the expensive paint is peeling off. The amount of money spent, the accusations that followed, a dead duckling, a redraining, more money being spent and arrests for vandalism by just touching the peeling paint.
Trump builds up a project he envisions, waste taxpayer money, deflects when it blows up and then blames others for the failure. The GOP does nothing because they are afraid of Trump and his base. Trump’s failure is also the failure of the GOP.
