We read with interest the Wednesday September 16th front page local news article with accompanying photos. The Grandview School in Loyalsock Township certainly encompassed life learning opportunities and skills.
Our mother attended an earlier established one-room school through the 8th grade. The Hill School exists today as a a home dwelling in Union County between Kelly Point and Mazeppa. Our mother lived on a nearby family farm and could sometimes ice skate to school. That was in the mid 1920's. Lewisburg High School, now a community center, was the next level of education. We are wondering if there are other early one-room school house family stories and photos from the vicinity that preceded the Grandview School.
