First, how many Communist countries are there? None.
But, what about countries like Russia, China, Cuba, and North Korea?
Well, those countries are all dictatorships.
And yet, these countries are the boogie men that Republicans want you to think of when they say Democrats are Communists.
Well, becoming more Socialized is not the same as becoming Communist. Shocking, I know. In fact, the countries we could learn from are "socialist wastelands" such as France, Germany, Japan, England, Canada, Spain, and many of the Nordic countries.
All these countries have universal healthcare and many offer childcare and generous family leave.
"But the cost!" Well, these countries typically spend 2/3rds per person of what we spend per person on healthcare. Why? Because they practice preventative medicine. And family support services? Well, knowing your family is not one illness, injury, pregnancy, etc. away from financial disaster is tax money well spent.
