As a long time Independent and objective voter I cannot understand why anyone will be voting to reelect Governor Shapiro.
He has made it clear that he is going to run for president in 2028, despite knowing, for some time now, that he has virtually no chance of garnering the nomination. Nor will he get the Vice President nomination. He is apparently angling for a Cabinet position and even then only if the Democrats win in 2028. In any case, even now being Governor is not his priority, so why vote to give him another four years which he will likely not fulfill, and in the meantime be distracted with campaign activities, such as fund raising, etc?
Why isn't he running on his record?
He has promised to enact school choice, several times, yet each time has dropped the action. He is obviously in the clutches of the over powerful teachers unions. I thought democrats were all about choice?
Again, as an objective voter who does research on the candidates I can find no valid reason to vote for Governor Shapiro. If he wants to run for another office, fine, he needs to resign his current position and do so.
This applies not only to Shapiro but to all elected, or even appointed officials. They should not be allowed to have a safe position, at taxpayers expense, while they seek opportunities in another position knowing they can simply fall back into their current career.
