Government shutdown

Sept. 30 of each year there is to be a budget passed. This year the proposed budget was given to be voted on at least a month early so that Sept. 30 budget could be voted on and passed. But the Congress is still not going to pass one. Now all the government employees are to receive back pay, what about all the SNAP recipients — do they get back benefits? A simple solution to cut spending: Put government expenses on exploring new ideas on hold, cut the benefits of the pork barrel, the your-vote-for-my-idea in return, cut the pay to congress with no back pay. SNAPping the economy

The Democrats are now telling us that we need SNAP, not because it helps the poor, but because every dollar of SNAP benefits results in 1.8 dollars in “economic activity”. This is, of course, a completely fabricated number. It is based on such obscure economic ideas such as velocity of money, but that is a very general theory and can’t be accurately applied to any one program. After withdrawing funds for the USAID, which is estimated to lead to 14 million preventable deaths by 2030, including 4.5 million young children, the Trump administration has now turned toward its own citizens. They have announced it will NOT use the $6 billion available to fund the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).
