I had a nice conversation today with a zoomer (GenZ, 2001). Me: “....yeah we baby boomers ‘messed’ things up. False Claims Act bad for state

The Pennsylvania Senate needs to stop the so-called False Claims Act before it creates even more problems for small businesses across Pennsylvania. This bill might sound like it’s about stopping fraud, but in reality, it’s just another way for trial lawyers to make money, all at the expense of the rest of us. If this becomes law, lawyers would be allowed to sue businesses “on behalf” of the state. But in most cases, it won’t be about justice. It’ll be about getting a big payout. Why are you surprised?

I find it slightly amusing that people are surprised even shocked by what the Trump administration is doing along with Republican legislators federally and in Republican lead states. I must ask was no one truly listening to what Republicans have been saying all these years? Never mind the charges they level at Democrats, I am referring to what they say about their beliefs. Republicans always campaign they will protect SSI, Medicare and Medicaid but they always say they are unsustainable and should be privatized.
