Vice President Kamala Harris' speech at the DNC was yet another instance of empty rhetoric and partisan platitudes, void of the substance the American people care about. Whether you're a Republican or Democrat, it was impossible to miss the lack of specifics in her remarks--just more of the same political talking points we've heard for years, while offering no policy solutions to the serious issues facing our country.
Vice President Harris track record speaks for itself. From her time as Attorney General of California, where she was known for being weak on crime, to being rated the most liberal member of the U.S. Senate--more extreme than even self-proclaimed socialist Bernie Sanders--her tenure has been marked by incompetence and ineffectiveness. Her role as Vice President has been no different.
What was truly alarming in her speech, and throughout the entire DNC, was what wasn't discussed--the things that matter most to the American people. Harris had nothing to say about the disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan, despite being proud to be the last person in the room for the decision that resulted in the loss American lives and $85 billion in military equipment being left behind. She offered no solutions on our open, broken border, which has caused fentanyl deaths to surge. There was silence on the spiraling crime rates, inflation, energy prices, and the skyrocketing cost of living--real issues that are hurting everyday Americans.
Instead, the speech was filled with relentless personal attacks on President Trump and his family, a tired tactic designed to distract from her own failures. It's appalling that they continue to mislead the American people with outright lies, such as the baseless claims that President Trump will end Social Security, implement a federal abortion ban, raise taxes on the middle class, or implement Project 2025, which neither President Trump nor I have read or endorsed. This is nothing more than fear-mongering and part of their broader con to sell a false vision of a brighter future.
Let me be clear: these are deliberate deceptions. The Biden-Harris administration acts as though their disastrous tenure never happened, pretending that the harm they have caused over the past three and a half years isn't real. But the American people know the truth.
How many times have we heard Kamala Harris say, "On day one..." Why not make "Day One" today? It's because they have no actual plan to correct course.
The American people aren't buying it, and Pennsylvanians certainly won't be conned by the Democrats' phony promises. We need real leadership--leadership that will prioritize peace through strength, common sense, and pro-growth solutions over deception and chaos. If you want four more years of empty speeches and hollow promises, vote for Harris and her agenda. But if you want real positive change, vote for Donald Trump.
And let's not forget: the media is now trying to paint Kamala Harris as some kind of moderate. This is nothing more than a biased media trying to gaslight the public. Her policies and proposals are far-left radicalism wrapped in a thin veneer of centrist rhetoric. The media doesn't want you to believe your "lying eyes" and "lying ears." They don't want you to acknowledge the hardships we've faced since Biden and Harris were sworn in.
Harris' speech focused on abstract ideals like "joy" and "neighborliness," but joy doesn't pay the bills or keep our kids safe. Joy is a result of good governance, not a substitute for it. The reality is that under the Biden-Harris administration, the world has become more dangerous, our economy weaker, and our borders totally unsecure. And despite Harris' claims, the world was far more peaceful under President Trump--no new wars, a strong military, and a record of peace. Under this administration, the world is like a tinder box that is already on fire.
The contrast is clear: while Democrats push for "limitless" government control, Republicans believe in "limited" government that empowers individuals and strengthens constitutional law. This Harris-Walz ticket's belief that DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) should be "the center of everything"--from our military to our businesses--shows just how far off course their priorities are. We need leaders who will focus on America First and on creating opportunities for all individual Americans, not an endless expansion of government control.
In short, the Democrats want you to believe in a future built on empty government promises. But as Ronald Reagan said, "Government is not the solution to our problem; government is the problem." It's time to vote for leaders who will solve problems like Donald Trump--not create more of them as Kamala Harris will do.
As this campaign continues, we cannot listen to what the candidates say, but rather look at what they have done. And if we do that, the choice is clear. We must elect Donald J. Trump in November.
